The Coastal-Aires Barbershop Chorus will be busy this Christmas season, with several performances scheduled. Beginning Friday and Saturday, December 5 & 6, they will perform at the Oregon Coast Aquarium’s Festival of Lights, doing 20 minute sets between 6:30 and 9:30 pm. On Wednesday, December 10, they will sing for the Festival of Trees at the Best Western Agate Beach Inn.

Thursday, December 11, the chorus will join with the Oregon Coast Chorus of Sweet Adelines to present a Christmas Program at First Presbyterian Church, 227 NE 12th St, starting at 7:00 PM. This annual event is a benefit for the Newport Food Pantry; there is no admission charge, but donations to the Food Pantry are encouraged.

Saturday, December 13, the Coastalaires will participate in the Victorian Christmas at the Yaquina Head Lighthouse Interpretive Center. Final performance of the season will be at the morning worship service at First Presbyterian Church, 227 NE 12th St., 10:00 am Sunday, December 14.

The Christmas season is highly anticipated by the Coastalaires, as an opportunity to share their music with the community, and to open the chorus for the season to men who are not members.

The Coastal-Aires meet every Thursday, 7:00 PM, at the First Presbyterian Church in Newport. All men, all ages, are welcome. No prior experience is required. Further information is available on the web at coastalaires.wordpress.com, or contact Mike Eastman at choirboy1953@gmail.com or 541-270-4114.
